Supported Housing for Persons with Learning Disability from the Viewpoint of Those Persons

The thesis focuses on supported protected housing for persons with learning disabilities and the personal experience of such persons using various types of such housing. The first chapter contains the theoretical basis of this topic and its subchapters list certain trends in social services. It contains the definition of the expression supported protected housing for persons with learning disabilities and its individual types. Chapter two focuses on the users of the social services consisting in provision of supported protected housing for persons with learning disabilities. Its first subchapter focuses on the expression of adulthood, the other subchapters then deal with psychological characteristics and particular features of persons with learning disabilities. Chapter three contains the research. It contains the justification of the research issue, stipulates the objective of the thesis, and defines the research questions. Needs of persons with disabilities and their close persons during hospitalisation

Experience of patients with disabilities and their close persons during hospitalisation demonstrates insufficient understanding to the needs of such people. This issue is also discussed in foreign literature, wherein the need to establish the position of a specialized worker who knows very well the conditions of the health care facility and the needs of people with disabilities is emphasized. The objective of this thesis is to point out the complex issue of the needs of people with learning disability and their close persons during hospitalisation. Hospitalisation itself is a difficult and demanding situation in any person's life. For persons with learning disability, this situation is even more serious. The thesis aims at describing the experience of persons with learning disability so that it may serve as the basis for improving their health care.
Integrated education for pupils with special educational needs - casuistic

This bachelor's thesis focuses on integration of pupils with learning disabilities into regular elementary schools. The theoretical part focuses on learning disability - mental retardation, ADHD - attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, and education of pupils with learning disabilities. A case study of 13-year-old boy with mental handicap, ADHD and behavioral problems demonstrates the characteristic features of the integration process in the main stream elementary school. It shows the potential as well as limits of inclusive education. Analysis of this case demonstrates the direct dependence of the successful integration on the professional as well as human qualities of teachers.
Community Housing As Means of Social Inclusion for Mentally Disabled People

(in English): The aim of this text is to describe how community housing contribute to social integration of people with learning disability who used to live at social institutions. At first, this paper concentrates on wide continuity of issues like specifics of people with learning disabilities and the changes into their care in Czech environment, which in last years are primarily related to process of social services transformation and deinstitutionalization. Oftentimes, the result of this effort is sheltered and community housing establishment. Next, the paper describes the first wave of transformation in the particular institution of social welfare for adult people with learning disabilities that leads into establishment of community housing for 6 people. In two case studie is demonstrated how this community housing significantly made a contribution to social integration. Not only that the members of the community housing had an opportunity to live their life like same-age "normal" people but also they were integrated into local community despite of their disabilities.
Specific developmental disordersmof scholasticskills and their reeducation

The thesis describes specific learning disabilities in general with the main accent on dyslexia, dysgraphia and dysortographia. It states causes and displays of SLD and their reflec- tion in children's mental well and the life of their families. It also deals with general reeduca- tion methods of learning disabilities and specific methods of dyslexia, dysgraphia and dysortographia remedy including outline of tools needed for reeducation. It presents care sys- tem for children with SLD in Czech Republic or who may be involved in care and education of these individuals. There are following methods used for the research in the practical part of the thesis: analysis of documentation, observation, interview and processing of casuistries. The research took place in two institutions, which deal with care about children with SLDs. It is the goal of the practical part of the bachelor thesis to present two institutions working with children with SLD, analyze their remedy methods and assemble casuistries of two selected students.
Development of communication skills for people with learning disabilities

The thesis deals with the possibilities of communication skills development for persons with learning disabilities. Problematics of vocabulary acquirement and the associated cognitive processes are of primary interest of the thesis. Part of the work is a proposal of several practical activities for improvement of these fields, all in agreement with the presented theoretical background. Qualitative study on a sample of 5 tenants of a nursing home was conducted. Subsequent analysis revealed that the nature, implementation and orientation of the proposed tasks is suitable for the clients. Pupil with hyperkinetic disorder in elementary school

The work is focused on the issue of hyperkinetic disorder. The theoretical part is a search of literature, which describes the basic concepts and principles for easy orientation in the topic. In the practical part of the work, the knowledge gained from the theoretical part was used. The practical part consists of an analysis of the school system, the scope of work of a teaching assistant and a case study of an eleven-year-old elementary school student who was diagnosed with ADHD. Thanks to the cooperation with the pupil's family and her class teacher in primary school, the opportunity arose to draw on their personal experience of working with the pupil. Both the child's mother and the class teacher provided their answers in semi-structured interviews. Thanks to this, information was obtained about the student's behavior in the school environment, at home and in the environment of her peers. The author's own interpretation thus works with the results of professional research as well as from the personal experiences of the two people most significantly involved in the education of the pupil and in the building of her intellect.
